Sue has been involved in Non Profits helping under resourced families in the Katy/West Houston area for almost 10 years. Before that she spent 25 years in the Human Resources industry.[read more=(more) less=(less)]Her career in the corporate world was for a software company where organizing healthcare plans, benefits and facilitating were daily tasks as the company grew globally. Christian Counseling and mentoring young mothers has been something she has done part time outside of the corporate world. Her career history has always involved working with people and their environment. Most recently Compassion Katy joined forces with other influent Non-Profits and Katy ISD in the Katy area to work with the needs in the Katy area.

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree obtained from Kings College, London, England, 1983. Bachelor of Human Resources obtained from Phoenix University, Houston, Texas, 1999, Associates Degree in Marketing and Public Relations, Phoenix University, Houston, Texas in 2001. A Certification of Christian Counseling was obtained online via Concordia University in 2007.

Married to Grady Hetrick, she is the mother of 8 children with an ongoing interest in fostering and adoption. They have a huge family. Children range from age 10 to 39 so she is also the Grandma to 11 grandchildren. Being a Grandmother is her biggest joy and achievement. LIFE tends to keep busy. Family life, traveling, and tending to the various needs of people in our community are the most important tasks in her present life.[/read]

Regina is a lover of God and His people. Her daily aspirations are to live life to the fullest, be present and in the moment, and reflect God in all that she does. [read more=(more) less=(less)]She truly focuses on living out Luke 10:27 which states to love the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul and strength and my neighbor as myself. Her legacy is to leave deposits in her children and her circle of influence that will enable them to make positive withdrawals for a lifetime. Regina is truly motivated by accomplishing God given passions no matter size, because all are significant. She is motivated by seeing the fruits of the spirit in others when they are operating as Jesus’ tangible hands and feet. God has blessed Regina with a mighty man of valor, Christopher and four precious little gifts, Kayla, Kristen Christopher, & Kennedy. Her desire to be the best helpmate to her husband and an engaged mother to her four children.

Regina has always had a heart for the underserved, marginalized, and voiceless within the community and has participated in various outreach opportunities over the last 15 years in St. Louis, MO & the Greater Houston/Katy area.

Prior to working within the nonprofit sector, Regina utilized her MBA in the Oil and Gas sector as business analyst for a midstream gas company. In addition to being an active board member with Compassion Katy, she spends time working for Feed the Hunger, Surge Team Building, Young Lives, and volunteering with the Great Southwest Prayer Center - Peace Unity & Racial Healing prayer team.

Regina became interested in Compassion Katy because she felt this was the next progressive path that would allow her to connect with the community on a much broader scale. Compassion Katy is the epitome of linking the needs of the community with the hearts of the Church and reflecting Compassion in Action. She absolutely loves the role of being Director of Community Relations.

God continues to use Regina to link people from various backgrounds and cultures to truly be reflective of God’s church. She believes with all her heart there are numerous people with the heart to serve and be of assistance in any capacity, but may not be privy to opportunities available. Her aspiration is to be that bridge to link those people. [/read]

I am Pastor of Missions & Evangelism at The Fellowship. I serve as President of the public non-profit World Recovery and am a board member of Kosmos Coffee.[read more=(more) less=(less)] I have been married for 21 years to my gift from God, Karen. We have two grown kids, Mitchell who is married with two sweet boys and a girl and Molly. I am a native Texan and proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Industrial Engineering. [/read]

Bradley works in the financial sector with one of the largest financial institutions in the world. Before that, Bradley was a church planter for 27 years. Planting or helped plant over 17 churches.[read more=(more) less=(less)]During his last church plant he met and worked with Sue Hetrick and they began doing humanitarian type ministry together and discovered that God was clearly in the details of the work they were accomplishing together. From that point forward they knew they’d be tied together doing this type of humanitarian work as long as God would allow.

After Sue took on the new role of Executive Director of Compassion Katy, she asked Bradley to be the Chairman of the Board, the rest is history to be made. The excitement of changing peoples lives and the adventure of it all, is what keeps him motivated to do it more and more.

Bradley has been married to Mindie (the absolute love of his life) for over 20 years. Bradley and Mindie met in their church youth group in 1984. They feel in love while attending different Universities and dated for 7 years before marrying in their late 20’s. During that time Bradley was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Disease Lymphoma Cancer, six weeks after that diagnosis, he also found out he had an advanced stage of Tuberculosis. Doctors gave him less than a 10% chance of survival and told him if he did survive he would never have children. Mindie faithfully stood by Bradley through it all as they were dating. Shortly after Bradley beat both diseases they were married. You’ve never met two people more in love with one another, they are seriously a match made in Heaven.

A little after 2 years of marriage, God blessed them with their first child, Presley Rae. She has been a miracle and a blessing since the day she was born. Presley is a senior in High School, getting ready to graduate, she will be doing The World Race, Gap Year, after graduating and then she’ll attend Baylor University. Boston their son was born exactly 2 years after that. He’s a sophomore in High School and very involved with volunteering at church and is very passionate about the game of basketball. He’s an amazing athlete and is working hard to earn a full ride as a collegiate player.[/read]

Karen Sparks

Karen Sparks currently is a Restorative Practices Coordinator in Katy ISD and a motivational speaker. She is affiliated with the Institute of Restorative Justice at the University of Texas as a collaborator and a lead trainer.[read more=(more) less=(less)]Karen received her BA in Social Work with a minor in Sociology at Grove City College in Grove City, PA and her Masters in Educational Leadership at Lamar University.

She taught Strategic Reading at Morton Ranch High School in Katy ISD. She was a 2014/15 Katy Foundation Grant winner, Teacher of the Year for Morton Ranch High School in 2014 and was a finalist for H.E.B. Teacher of the Year for 2016. She was also named the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators Teacher of the Year for 2016. Karen was featured in the Katy Magazine Dec/Jan 2015/2016 issue as a Life Changing Educator and Katy Magazine’s Top 10 People of 2016.

Karen is passionate about empowering students to receive support for success and would be honored to serve Compassion Katy in any capacity.[/read]
