Leap into Service

Leap Into Service from The Fellowship at Cinco Ranch on Vimeo.

Leap Into Service is our annual non-profit expo that highlights the work that the local not for profits do in our community.  It also gives the community members a chance to get learn more about how to get involved and make an Eternal Impact on our community.  Our first Leap Into Service was held on February 29, 2012 and it is scheduled again for April 9, 2014, at Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church, 6035 S. Fry Road.

In the first year, 32 non profits and more than 150 community members were able to join together to help work towards solving the needs in Katy.

National Day of Prayer May 3, 2012

What could happen if 4000 people gathered in the Merrell Center for the 2012 National Day of Prayer? What could happen if we crossed racial and denominational lines and gathered together from all of our churches under one roof to humble ourselves and pray and seek His Face and to turn from our sinful ways? We think something amazing could happen! Would you please join us?

Pastors and ministry leaders from our community will facilitate corporate and small group prayer. The Wayne Kerr Band will lead us in worship joined by a 300 voice choir from Houston’s Second Baptist West. We will have the opportunity to pray over Katy leadership as part of our evening prayer time. Most of all, we will pray for the transformation of our city and nation!

Empty Bowls Benefiting Katy Christian Ministries

February 25, 2010
Katy High School Commons

Half a million individuals need assistance with food each year in Houston and throughout southeast Texas.  Nearly 900,00 people live in poverty in our 18-county area (15% of the population).  One in four children in Harris County lives at or below poverty level.  On any given day, an estimated 35,000 people are hungry in Houston.  55% of the people we serve had a high school degree or higher.  Texas and New Mexico have the highest rates of child food insecurity in the nation.

Many came together to support KCM at the Katy High School Commons for a delicious soup dinner and a hand made bowl.  All proceeds went to Katy Christian Ministries Food Pantry for the Hungry.
