Compassion Katy wants to recognize Grace Fellowship for a job well done. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, Grace Fellowship stepped up to the plate and filled a huge need for the Red Cross by becoming an Emergency Shelter.
They housed 47 evacuees and 6 Red Cross during their operation and had space for that number to grow even further. They housed families for anywhere from days to weeks, providing food, a safe place to sleep and helping out with basic needs and medical care.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time to assist at this shelter and make such a direct and important impact in the life of someone affected by Hurricane Ike. What a wonderful way to show God’s love and compassion to people at the time they needed it most.
