On Saturday October 25, a team from Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church went to the Clear Lake/Seabrook area and joined with several hundred other volunteers organized by Christians Organized for Relief Efforts (C.O.R.E. Alliance) to clear debris from the yards of homes in the Shore Acres subdivision. With beautiful weather and serving hearts, the team was able to clean the yards of three homes. Two of the homes had been totally destroyed by the storm, and the third home was restorable but still uninhabitable. Mounds of tree, building, and fence debris were gathered for FEMA contractors to collect. The team was blessed to meet two of the homes’ owners and to hear their personal stories of loss, perseverance, faith and hope.
