Homeland Preparedness Medical Reserve Volunteers Needed

Help your family and your neighbors in case of an emergency.

Homeland Preparedness Project has partnered with Ft. Bend County Health and Human Services and Brazoria County Emergency Management to develop the capabilities of the Medical Reserve Corps. This team will work with our partners to fulfill missions identified during events to help save lives in our community.

Currently, MRC missions include assisting with Special Needs evacuations, helping to manage the 2-1-1 program, assisting with Special Needs sheltering, and helping to staff Points of Distribution.

There are volunteer positions for everyone, regardless of skills and capabilities. No medical training is required. HPP will provide a special training program for volunteers who sign up.

A volunteer can expect to spend approximately 3 hours in the initial training and another 8 hours per year participating in exercises. If you want to do more, there will be additional opportunities. Training will be held at various locations and times to accommodate most schedules.

For more information: Contact HPP at MRC@homelandpreparedness.org  or call 281-844-3653 during regular business hours.

To apply: Complete and submit the form here or download the application (Click Here) and return it by mail. Someone from HPP will contact you by phone or by e-mail within 48 hours of receipt of your application.
