Katy Servefest 2009 Krause Center Update

God is so good!  We completed ALL of the projects that we had on our list for the Krause Center!  26 people from 3 area churches worked together on July 25, 2009 to make a huge impact on the Krause Center and their kids.  Volunteers were painting, power washing, organizing the library and wiring and installing speakers through out the facility.  The Krause kids got in on the action helping out moving tables and chairs and signing post cards.  At lunch, the kids and volunteers enjoyed a wonderful cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks, but the most popular item- COOKIES!

We were amazed and touched by the Krause Center; it’s a residential treatment program for abused and troubled teens, but it feels like a big family.  The Krause staff really loves the kids there and it’s evident that they are loved and respected in return.  A HUGE thank you to the Krause staff, the Krause kids and our AWESOME Katy Servefest volunteers for such a great day at the Krause Center!

IMPORTANT NEWS!  Since we had such an awesome and productive day at Krause, we’ve run out of projects at that site!  If  you are signed up to work at the Krause Center on August 1, 2009, please make plans to join us at the YMCA’s Camp Cinco.  You can find a map and more details at http://www.KatyServefest.org
