Merry Christmas From CompassionKaty.org

“…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40

CompassionKaty.org would like to thank each and every person who has volunteered their time this year.  Servefest 2008 at West Houston Charter School was a huge success.  We had over 350 volunteers representing 3000+ volunteer hours give their time and talents to improve this school’s facilities.  Hurricane Ike came to the Houston area and our wonderful volunteers and church partners jumped into action.  We had teams out rebuilding fences and clearing tree limbs for local residents who were unable to do it for themselves, others volunteered with the Red Cross doing damage assessments and data entry work, and several churches were called in as Red Cross Shelters hosting families needing shelter.  We also teamed up with IkeAssist.org to go into the areas hit hardest by the storm and help to clear out debris and start the rebuilding process for several families.  Check out the Compassion In Action Stories to read more.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that the love of Christ fills your homes and families all through the year.  We look forward to a bigger and better 2009 as we all work together bringing the hope of Christ in to our Community.
